No - our computers are second hand and previously used, and as such they will in some cases (not all) have a little wear and tear. However they are all guaranteed by our 7 day 100% money-back guarantee and our Free 6 month warranty to be in full working order. All our refurbished computers are fully tested before being dispatched. All our computers are held to high standards as they are refurbished by our Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher – Spartan.

We do offer the option to customize and upgrade computers such as increasing RAM, hard drive space, newer processor etc.

The computers all come with a valid, licensed, Windows XP or Vista operating system. We include a software CD with various programs such as a word processor, spread sheets, internet explorer etc.

All our computers are refurbished via Spartan who are a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR). This means our computers are cleaned of the prior data, updated as needed with minor repairs or replacement components, thoroughly tested, and have genuine Microsoft Operating System software installed.

We predominantly stock Dell towers, monitors, and laptops however we also stock other top brands such as HP, Mecer and Fujitsu. We also have various used and refurbished printers in stock.

If you would like to collect your order, you can come into our Johannesburg offices to do so. Please select the "I will collect" option on the checkout page. As soon as our team have packed your order we will send you an email to inform you that your order is ready for collection.

Half Price Computers will deliver your order to you. Depending on where you are based, we will either use one of our own vehicles or use a dedicated courier company for all our deliveries. Orders are carefully packaged to avoid any damage during transit and our courier company is experienced in handling the distribution of IT equipment.

Who pays for the collection and delivery should a defective machine under warranty need to be taken in for repairs/replacement?2017-02-27T16:39:28+00:00

Collection: Should your purchase need to be repaired or replaced and is under warranty , we will need to collect the machine. When we do so, should you be located within a main town anywhere in the country on our main centres free delivery list , we will pay for that collection. Delivery: The cost of our delivering the repaired/replacement machine to you is also covered in total by Half Price Computers, should you be located within a main town anywhere in the country on our main centres free delivery list . This means that as long as you fall anywhere within our free delivery areas, you don’t need to pay in any way for a repair or replacement of your purchase while it is under warranty.

If it’s the wrong item: We have various quality controls in place to avoid incorrect delivery, equipment malfunction or failure. Currently less than 2% of orders dispatched ever experience issues. Should an error occur and you get the wrong item, simply notify us. We will then send a delivery vehicle to retrieve the incorrect order and send you the correct unit at no extra cost.

All our computers come with a FREE 6 Month Warranty. We have various quality controls in place to avoid equipment malfunction or failure. Currently less than 2% of orders dispatched ever experience issues and should this occur and qualify under the warranty we will provide a replacement unit at no extra cost.

If delivery fees are to be charged, you will be informed of this. A delivery fee may be added to orders which are outside of our couriers Main Centres. For a list of which main centres within South Africa we deliver to for free, see our Free Delivery page. A delivery fee will be charged for dealers, retailers or bulk buyers.

Half Price Computers commits to getting you your order as soon as possible – this usually means within a few days. However, in the worst case scenario, you will get your order no later than 10 working days after we have received your payment.

All orders are carefully packaged to avoid any damage during transit and our courier company is experienced in handling the distribution of IT equipment. Again, currently less than 2% of orders dispatched ever experience issues. However, all our computers come with a Free 6 Month Warranty , just in case. Should your computer be damaged (excluding minor scratches/superficial marks) upon delivery, this would fall under the Free 6 Month Warranty. In these circumstances, simply claim on your Free 6 Month Warranty as per standard procedure.

You sell half price machines online. So what happens after I click ‘add to cart’?2017-02-27T16:31:48+00:00

If you have selected either the credit card or debit card method of purchasing, your order is now complete and all you have to do is wait for it to be delivered to the address you specified. You will receive an email confirming what you have ordered. If you have selected the electronic funds (Instant EFT) method of payment, you will receive a similar email confirming what you have ordered, with added instructions to send proof of payment back to us. Only after you have done this by clicking ‘reply’ and attaching the proof of payment from your online banking, will your order be finalised. Thereafter all you need to do is to wait for your delivery to arrive.

Select the EFT payment option - tick the ‘I’ve read the Terms & Conditions’ box - click ‘Place order’ - you will then see the EFT details in order to make payment - send us your proof of payment with your order ID number as a reference … and your done.

Yes there is. All Half Price Computers come standard with a Free 6 month warranty . This means that, should you experience any hardware fault within 6 months of purchasing, we will either repair or replace your machine - free of charge. There is also an add-on extra payable service of an X-tended Warranty option, which costs R249. This is an additional item to purchase along with your Half Price Computer machine, providing an extended warranty for an extra 6 months for a total of 1 year. Half Price Computers has a strict Privacy Policy in place to protect the information of our customers. This means that Half Price Computers will never require or seek out personal information such as your banking PIN, bank balance. information or personal credit history. Whenever buying online requires that online banking take place, Half Price Computers will neither store any of your banking information nor disclose it to a third party under any circumstances.
